The neighborhood is named by this name because its first residents were Syriacs who migrated to Aleppo from the cities of southern Turkey during World War I.
A community of diverse nationalities and ethnicities lives in the neighborhood, including Syriacs, Arabs, Armenians, Circassians, Kurds, and Greeks. They all live together in Syriac Quarter with love and peace.
