Hi Muso family, I forgot to post this.
It's our last lesson in the old studio before we officially moved to our new Muso HK home in Starstreet Precinct, Wan Chai! YAY! No more bad lighting...
Pieces:
Dance no. 2 (ABRSM)
Mini Toccata (AMEB)
The problem with the ABRSM syllabus in Grades 0-2 is that there isn't many staccato / virtuosic pieces. I also note that there is a problem with teachers "randomly" giving different pieces to their students, but actually within each "Grade", there are levels of difficulty of each piece. So I will help make it easier for you guys, by putting pieces in order or marking them 'easy', 'intermediate', 'hard' so your students can learn the correct pieces in order.
I have tested it 3-5 times by accident, where a 'super student' progresses really well, easily passed their first three Grade 0 pieces. I get overly excited, give them a funner but 'Hard' Grade 0 piece to see... Unfortunately they cannot do it. Each time, their confidence goes down and they think the issue is to them. I straight away go back to the normal order of 'difficulty' in pieces within the Grade and when they are finally properly ready for the 'Hard' Grade 0 piece... they can complete it with ease.
That's why I am in the process of creating the Muso Method Grade Series to suit ALL students around the WORLD. I will work hard to improve the music pedagogy of the classical world! Thank you for patiently waiting.
