I use the Circular Saw to fit a board around a drain pipe sticking out of the wall in my kitchen. The house is 200 + years old and when the pluming was installed, it was installed beside the stacked stone foundation, not through it. (no, i didn't have a jig saw on hand).
... this is a very dangerous technique, please be careful with all tools.
