Mitsubishi Outlander starter Motor Clean and Replace Part 1 - FAIL
The starter motor was a bit noisy and spinning without engaging sometimes on my Mitsubishi Outlander 2.0 diesel Manual 2010. So I decided to take it off and look for possible rusting, bad connection, etc. I found nothing but just a little carbon and a bit of corrosion inside the solenoid, at the magnetic tip in the bottom. Cleaned and greased but results the same. I assume it is the solenoid which has lost part of magnetism and needs to be replaced or the whole motor.
I’ve received a replacement motor and going to replace it and then share the video. Stay tuned.
