Last week on my Twitch stream, we had a discussion about the state of Legends of Runeterra and I gave my thoughts on being a better aggro player, aggro vs control vs combo and more. I talked about how decision making changes during every game and how it's different between aggro decks vs control decks. I talk about the misconception that aggro decks are easy to play due to how forgiving aggro decks in Runeterra are to players that misplay as opposed to Legends of Runeterra control decks being unforgiving and why players often never know why they lost when they do lose games with an aggro deck. I also touch on what to think about when focusing on how to be a better aggro player, what planning ahead looks like for control players and aggro players and why people don't even realize their misplays when playing aggro decks. This is sort of a mini LoR guide on how the different deck types play out in a game of Legends of Runeterra, with a focus on aggro vs control.
After playing card games for over 10 years and being part of multiple communities, one observation remains the same: there is playing aggro and then there is playing aggro well. Most non-aggro players that criticize aggro for being easy to play, don't know how to play the archetype very well themselves since it requires a different mindset when making decisions and the misplays are very subtle. Hope you enjoy the video!
