How to open an image with Python.

Abstract:
This is the first post in a series of posts on how to effectively use the Pillow fork of the Python Imaging Library (PIL). In this post, we will learn how to import PIL and use it to 'grab' an image, then finally how to use matplotlib to display the image.

Details:
OS: Ubuntu 18.04
Language: Python | 3.7.5
Editor: emacs
Libraries: PIL, matplotlib
Prerequisites: Basic understanding of Python (variables, arrays), understanding of what an object is.

Notices: Python Imports the 'Pillow' fork as 'PIL' so to avoid confusion at a later stage I will always refer to it as 'PIL'.
