❯❯People often ask: ‘Can I become a software tester without a degree and, do I need a certification for software testing?’ If you're an aspiring entrepreneur and you want to break into tech and land a high-paying job as a software tester, I'm going to address a very important question that I often get: "Do I need any experience, do I need to know how to code, do I need any degrees or a certification? And the answer is "no, no, no and no".
You don't need a degree - you just need the skill set. Nor do you need any certifications. I don't have any or hold any certifications for software testing, however, the more certifications that you do have can definitely look good to employers. I was able to break into tech without a degree, without any certifications, and without any prior experience. But what I was able to do was to speak to a QA perspective from my previous jobs experience, and that's exactly what we teach you to do.
So, if you have a degree, it definitely can be beneficial when you get to the IT job market, however, what employers are actually looking for is hands-on experience. They're looking for you to actually know what software testing is, what it actually looks like from a perspective of performing the tasks on a day-to-day basis. Employers are looking for you to have the skill sets to actually test software to ensure a bug and defect-free platform for its clients and for its users.
Software testing is a very important and integral part of software development. It ensures that the product is functional and meets the requirements. Software testers are responsible for identifying errors, bugs, and other defects in the software. They also test software to ensure that it is meeting customer standards.
There are many benefits to being a software tester. These include being able to work remotely, the ability to work on different types of software, and the opportunity to work in any industry. Software testers are responsible for testing software that is going into production. This can seem like a daunting task, but it can be done remotely and doesn't require extensive technical knowledge. The field is growing quickly because more companies are realizing how important it is to have someone test their software before releasing it into production.
On this channel, I teach people how to pivot or transition into the tech industry as a software tester. My topics are specific to Tech or Software testing for beginners, newbies, or people who simply want to pivot, break into tech, or make a career transition.
